Globaliseringen innebär ökad konkurrens för företag vilket gör det viktigare för företag att snabbt kunna utföra sina kostnadsuppskattningar. I detta arbete undersöks förutsättningarna för att använda moderna teorier inom cost engineering för att kunna förkorta ledtiderna vid förkalkylsarbetet för företag inom Custom made-tillverkning. Inom cost engineering har teorier för kostnadsuppskattning används för att beräkna tillverkningstider för tre olika produkter hos ett fallföretag. För att få en bra beskrivning av problematiken med kostnadsuppskattning inom Custom made-tillverkning har design science-metodologi använts under arbetets gång.  Resultatet av arbetet visar att förutsättningarna för att använda moderna teorier inom cost engineering för kostnadsuppskattning hos custom made-tillverkande företag är att historisk data avseende för- och efterkalkylsarbete finns tillgänglig.

This master thesis is about the collaboration between the custom dairy heifer grower and thedairy producer.The custom dairy heifer grower is a rather unusual strategy of reproductive management inSweden compared to other countries like U.S. and Denmark where the specialization withindairy production gone much further. In these countries the research also has reached muchfurther within this type of industry. However in Sweden there has been research made in thearea of collaboration, but then only within collaborations in the industries of crop production,dairy production and pork meat.The down going trend of profitability within dairy production together with poor profitabilityin the beef industry could partly remedy if more collaborations around heifer contractingwould arise. But since the industry still is of a rare kind in Sweden the knowledge about howthese types of collaborative arrangements works and their contracts are put together is poor.By that the aim of this master thesis is formulated as follows: "how is usually thecollaborative arrangement between the dairy producer and custom dairy heifer growerdesigned".

Detecting small signals with a comparator demands that the total voltage offset is lower than the actual signal. The total offset includes the voltage offset in the comparator and the voltage offset that is created by the offset currents that flows thru the load at the comparators input. The goal with this comparator that has been developed has been that it will have a total voltage offset at maximum 500 uV. The comparator does not need to be extremely fast or does not need to operate in a big frequency area. To have all the flexibility that is needed a full custom technique is used.

Female genital mutilation is an ancient custom, practiced mainly in African countries. For several years, Africans has immigrated to Sweden and many of the women are genitally mutilated or circumcised. The aim of this study was to bring some clarity to the attitudes and experiences regarding female genital mutilation among those who are affected. Articles for this literature review were searched for in international databases, and in the university library database. The outcome of this study shows that health care staff is in need of greater knowledge about this custom, in order to be able to handle the situation appropriately.

Följsam tillverkning är en relativt ny tillverkningsstrategi som myntades i slutet av 1990-talet och har fram till idag fått en allt starkare plats i den akademiska världen av tillverkningsteknik. Vissa säger att strategin är nödvändig för att uppnå tillverkning i världsklass. Det finns ett antal forskningsartiklar som föreslår ett taxonomiskt ramverk, inklusive drivkrafter och förmågor, som är associerade med följsam tillverkning. Den här studien har två huvudsakliga syften. Det första syftet är att etablera en sammanställning av drivkrafter och förmågor som diskuterats i tidigare forskning.

I hydrocyklonaggregatet RADICLONE används kragade hål som tätningsyta mot cyklonen. Hålen ändrar form under tillverkning och i drift med läckage som följd. Syftet med arbetet är att studera hur de kragade hålen deformeras vid tillverkning och med hjälp av en FEM-modell beräkna deformationer vid drift och tillverkning. Utifrån resultaten har åtgärder föreslagits för att reducera hålens ovalitet. Det som påverkar hålen mest vid tillverkning är kragning och svetsning av bajonettfästen.

I have in this thesis studied how guidelines for organizing information in a custom- made user interface could be made. Teletal is service with a special designed user interface were information is stored. The purpose of this study is to encourage a consistent organization, and management of information in a user interface. The methods used in this study are as follows ? qualitative interviews and two card-sorting tests, of which one was closed and the other open.

The disconnect between assumptions regarding computer users interactions made by software engineers and the actual interactions do, for various reasons, not always match. Gathering actual usage data from user interfaces can enable software designers to make better educated decisions. By buildning a prototype for collecting such data from a diagnosis tool for the automotive industry this project has shown not only how to benefit from the data but also how to perform the work. The data is 1 600 sessions consisting of 26 000 individual events. From this it has shown that available tools can assist in rudimentary questions regarding usage.

The aim of this master's thesis is to examine how shelving is organized among Swedish libraries that have switched from the Swedish classification system SAB to using the DDC, and what problems arise in this process. The method used is interviewing librarians at Swedish university and special libraries.The Swedish national library announced their swap to the DDC in 2008, and several libraries followed suit. The reported advantages with a switch were mainly that using an international classification system meant that Swedish libraries would no longer have to undertake a time consuming classification work, since most of the foreign literature already is Dewey classified. Disadvantages were that the DDC is not adapted to Swedish circumstances. Research on open shelving show that obtaining a browsable book collection requires a broad shelf classification.

 I och med globaliseringens utsuddning av gränserna mellan länder och möjligheterna som det har skapat för bland annat outsourcing, har de svenska företagen idag helt andra förutsättningar än för 100 år sedan. Det finns idag ett flertal välkända svenska företag som har starka varumärken som anspelar till lokala orter runt om i landet. Vissa av dessa företag har valt att behålla sin produkttillverkning i Sverige, medan andra valt att outsourca den till lågprisländer. Studiens syfte är att genom kvalitativa intervjuer hos företag med lokala varumärken och dess kunder, analysera vilken betydelse den lokala tillverkningen har för företagets varumärkesimage för att på så sätt få reda på om lokal tillverkning är en hållbar strategi för långsiktig överlevnad. Resultatet av studien visar indikationer på att en lokal tillverkning saknar betydelse för hur företagens varumärkesimage uppfattas.

The robot is composed ofthree linear actuators; two standard components of ball screw type and a custom-builtactuator of trapezoidal type. The work has mainly focused on the custom-built device to seeif it could be replaced with a standard component. Part of the work has been to look into thepicking tool and to see if there are any possibilities to improve its function.The report presents two different proposals which I decided to call Robot 1 and Robot 2 andthey aim to address the problems arising in the purpose-built linear unit and the X-axislinearity problems. Robot 1 focuses on eliminating the problems that arise around therobot's X-axis, with such simple means as possible and without making excessive materialchanges.

This study is based on a statistical analysis of fundamental key ratios on the Stockholm Stock Exchange during the period 2004-2012. In total 35 financial ratios of 90 companies were tested, ultimately five ratios remained within the 5% significance level. These ratios were ROA, P/B, Total Yield, EV/EBIT and Operating Margin. A custom made investment model was created based on the purpose to achieve a risk-adjusted excess return. The results in general did not show any significant difference in return between the model's portfolio and index.

How does the recent wave of preferential trading arrangements affect, the incentives for further trade liberalization of member states, and the possibility of obtaining global free trade? And are there any differences in this aspect between custom unions and other forms of preferential trading arrangements? These questions are well debated and have divided international trade researchers into two camps, one in favour for preferential trading arrangements and the other side against them. I have used well acknowledged researchers in the area of international trade theory to make a literature study of the above mentioned key elements in the debate. When comparing the two sides I have focused mainly on their differences, assumptions and results. I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing to be alarmed by of the wave of regionalism that?s occurring in the world today, but caution should be applied and more research in this area is necessary before any certain conclusions can be drawn.
